Finding the right baby buggy/puschair/pram?

Posted on February 12th, 2010 by admin

It’s our first child and we’re keen to get a pushchair that we can use from birth for a number of years. We want one where the newborn baby can always face us as we push him (but not in a clipped-on car seat). A carrycot is not important, but having a car seat that can be attached to the puschair when needed is.

Does such a thing exist? It seems that the baby must face away with all travel systems but with the pram styles where the baby lyes facing you there doesn’t seem to be the option of clipping on the car seat.

I had a Mama’s and Papa’s and it is expensive but it is everything that you want

The car seat clips on to the chasis of the pram, then there is the carry cot and then the pram for when they are older…….

It was great, my sister used it for her twins and I have it back now and its still like new, my mate borrows it occasionly…..it is fab

does anyone know london buses policy on allowing double buggies through their back double doors?

Posted on February 7th, 2010 by admin

for ages drivers have told me it was at the driver’s own discretion, and some drivers refused me entry to even an empty bus-last winter with a newborn and 2year-old was no fun in the cold waiting…..
now they tell me that if the buggy cant come on the front door you can be refused entry, some single buggies and few double buggies can fit through the central aisle-it requires you to fold the buggy to gain access.
wheelchair-users naturally can use the back doors-what of the parent with twins or very small children-it is impossible to hold baby, fold buggy and hold another baby or toddler, plus the drivers site health &safety at you and if you do get on the bus as you have your arms full with nothing to hold on to,they take off at speed &you get knocked to the floor.

I would just like to use the buses the safest way-as wheelchair users do-I’d like to be afforded the same rights-do they exist or are we being legally descriminated against?
o pianojono-mayor ken would love you-arent you clever-go by car!

I am a London bus driver and while i sympathise with people with young children and buggies or pushchairs we have been trained to carry passengers in safety and comfort we also have rules that we have to follow its not that we are being difficult but if your manager tells you that you have to do something in a particular way then i’m afraid that’s what you have to do. if you feel strongly enough then may i suggest that you write to London buses or better still ken Livingstone the mayor of London maybe you can get the rules changed

What age gap did you leave between your twins and another baby?

Posted on February 5th, 2010 by admin

I have 10 month old twins and I plan to have more children but not yet maybe in a year of two, but was curious if you have had twins then another what age gap did you leave and why?
I would happily try for another just now but I think it would be difficult going out and about with a triple buggy or a double and carrying the baby.

My twins are 5 months old now and my partner and I plan to try for another in a couple of months. So if all goes to plan, they should be about 18 months difference. I know it will be hard at first but that’s what we plan to do. We think the smaller the gaps, it will work out better in the long run.

What are some baby accessories that you feel a baby doesnt really need?

Posted on February 2nd, 2010 by admin

I find that there are a lot of things new moms buy thinking their new baby needs them or because it makes life a lil easier, like matching buggies/bedding etc etc. What are some gadgets/toys/accessories that you think are not necessary?

A diaper genie and baby einstein DVD’s.
