Where can I find information linking jogging strollers to Shaken Baby Syndrome?

Posted on February 12th, 2010 by admin

I was told by a shop assistant at a baby store today that jogging with your baby is frowned upon due to the possibility of Shaken Baby Syndrome occuring. This is why it’s hard to find three-wheelers designed for runners in Australia according to her. I’d like to find out more about this but haven’t come across too much information as yet. Is there a high risk of causing SBS if you take your one year old jogging on bitumen or hiking on unsealed tracks?

Jogging strollers do not cause shaken baby syndrome. You shouldn’t use them if your baby does not have enough head and neck strength, which is why most companies say not to use them until after 6 months.

What strollers are compatible with the Baby Trend Flex Loc Car Seat?

Posted on February 9th, 2010 by admin

I have a wonderfully cute baby trend flex loc car seat and i am curious as to what strollers accept this car seat?

I had the Baby Trend Snap N Go stroller and LOVED it! It is so light-weight and easy to use. It also has cup holders for me and a large storage basket. Its fairly cheap (look for at a second hand baby store or Craigslist)! I used mine about about 10 months before my daughter out-grew her infant carrier.

I couldn’t decide on a stroller before I had my baby so I went with this one. It was perfect because it let me figure out what my stroller needs really were (not having had a baby before) and then I could buy the stroller that would last me for the next few years. I ended up getting a Graco Metrolite after the Snap N Go and loved it!

there is Graco, Evenflo, Chicco and some others. So many to choose. Which is THE BEST?

Its a matter of opinion but I reallllly LOVED my son’s Eddie Bauer Stroller and Carrier Combo :) It held up very well and My friend had the same brand car seat and stroller set and she had a car wreck and Thankfully her baby did not get hurt, That’s actually what made me go with Eddie Bauer* But like I said its a matter of opinion"

Should baby strollers be banned from Public Buses?

Posted on February 3rd, 2010 by admin

-They do take up a lot of room
-Or people are using strollers that are huge
-Should cities just ban strollers from Public Buses
My Suggestion…buy a car!

Do you really think it is fun for the parent having to cart around a stroller on public transportation? What do you suggest they do instead?

What is the difference between all the different baby strollers and car seats?

Posted on February 2nd, 2010 by admin

I know a lot of people are using the convertible units (even though I don’t really know what they are)? I know I can purchase the stroller and car seat apart – but can I purchase them together – do they detatch and hook into one another? Are they worth buying? I am confused about all the different options. Please help.

Yes, they hook into each other such as this:

There are infant carseat (like the one pictured) and convertible carseats like this one:

Convertible carseats are more upright and are bigger. Whereas infant carseats are smaller and made more for newborns/infants who don’t yet have neck or back support. Convertible carseats can be used for infants, but normally are used for toddlers about 1+ years.

Travel systems (the stroller and carseat together) are very handy. They offer more support for an infant and allow the baby to face you. Not to mention, they are normally cheaper than buying both items separate.
